MiBAC produces a series of music lesson drill software. Music Lessons I covers basic fundamentals (Windows/Mac). Music Lessons II (covered in this review) includes chords and harmony, and is geared towards more intermediate to advanced students (Windows/Mac). I got a kick out of working with Music Lessons II. Your students (or you!) can drill on chords, triads, Roman numerals, and seventh chords, either by ear training, writing, or playing the chords (on the playing, you can choose piano or guitar!). For difficulty level, the triads and chords include augmented and diminished. You're even applauded when you get the answer correct! When drilling, you have the option of the having the computer "show you" the correct answer or repeating the option. Other options include the four clef signs (treble, bass, alto, and tenor), plus the grand staff. There are several more option settings as far as types of chords, inversions, and other factors of the chords and triads, as well as MIDI input/output and tempo settings. Progress reports can be saved for future reference and for improvement comparisons.

Frankly, as an elementary music teacher and a teacher of only beginner and early intermediate piano students (although I do teach a variety of levels of flute), I found this program to be great just for me in brushing up on my advanced harmonic skills and ear training. It's well worth the money for this program to be handy for private teachers to use within the lesson, or even for students to use as they're waiting for their lesson to begin! It would also be my recommendation for any college or more advanced high school computer lab to have it handy for their music theory classes.
